Born in 1960 San Francisco, California.
Best known for his large scale kinetic and sound producing sculptures, Hawkinson creates
complex sculptural systems using surprisingly simple means.
He works with found objects and hand crafted materials from the monumental to the microscopic.
He often uses his own body as a starting point. He’s made sculptures using his own hair or fingernails and has painted rubber on himself to make inflated ‘self portrait’ pieces.
Tim has participated in numerous shows and exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad.
He is currently represented by Pace Wildenstein Gallery in New York and Ace Gallery in California.
He lives and works in Los Angeles.
